Theseus is built to leave you alone. It has no accounts, no ads, no trackers, and no analytics — and it collects nothing about you. This page explains that in plain terms.

The short version

We do not collect, see, sell, or share any of your data. Theseus has no servers of ours for your information to travel to. Everything you write — your habits, ships, notes, and reflections — stays on your device.

Your data stays with you

All of your content is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, Theseus syncs it privately across your own Apple devices using Apple’s CloudKit private database — the same mechanism Apple provides to every app. That data lives in your personal iCloud account. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else. If you are not signed in to iCloud, the app simply keeps everything on the one device.

No accounts, no tracking

There is no sign-up and no login. Theseus contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. It does not use the advertising identifier, does not build a profile of you, and does not track you across apps or websites.

Notifications

The optional evening reminder uses local notifications only — scheduled on your device, by your device. There is no push server, and enabling it sends no information anywhere. You can turn it on or off any time in the Chart Room.

Purchases

Theseus is free. The optional tips (“Patron of the Voyage”) are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, card, or payment details — only Apple’s confirmation that a purchase completed.

Children

Because Theseus collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children. It is safe for all ages.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date below. Meaningful changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
